Adult Psychiatry

HELPING ADULTS COPE AND HEAL.

Holt office interior 06Life is complicated and often difficult, and at some point in the journey, we are all vulnerable to issues ranging from anxiety and depression to more serious illnesses such as bipolar disorder and psychotic mood disorder. In fact, research shows that one in four people are affected by a mental health issue in any given year1

Psychiatry is called for when a medical-based approach is needed, although psychiatric treatment often includes talk therapy (psychotherapy) as well. A skilled psychiatrist can help individuals overcome their unique challenges by identifying the underlying causes and then formulating an appropriate treatment plan for moving forward.

Our approach

Dr. Allison Holt provides adult psychiatric treatment for patients dealing with

  • mood disorders
  • anxiety
  • grief and loss
  • suicidal thoughts
  • other symptoms and issues

Our treatment protocols include both psychiatric (medically-based) and therapeutic (counseling-based) methods. While many of our clients have an idea of what kind of treatment would be most effective for them, others are unsure.

Clients who want or need psychiatric treatment or who will be taking medication see Dr. Holt. We typically begin with a 60-minute evaluation session to explore your issues and goals, and then determine a path customized to your specific needs.
